Skills assessment costs have no single rate. They depend on your assessing authority, the assessment type and sometimes the pathway you choose. Below are indicative figures for common authorities — each pointing you to the verified, official source.

Indicative fees by authority

Costs people often miss

The assessment fee is only one part. Many files also pay for certified translation, some programs (such as TRA’s Job Ready Program) charge fees across several steps, and priority processing services carry a separate fee. When budgeting, add these in rather than looking only at the base fee.

Assessment fees are not visa fees

A common point of confusion: the skills assessment fee is paid to the assessing authority and is entirely separate from the visa fee paid to the Department of Home Affairs. These are two different costs, at two different steps of the journey.
