Occupations are tied to a code, not a job title

Checking whether your occupation is on the list
Each stream of visa 482 is tied to its own occupation list, and the lists change with each update. Your occupation needs to be on the list that applies to the stream and the nominated position. Because lists can change, check against the current version rather than older information.
A matching occupation still needs to meet the requirements
Being on the list is necessary but not sufficient. You still have to meet the experience requirement — the reference level is 1 year — and some occupations also require a skills assessment or an occupational licence. “Matching the occupation” and “being eligible for that occupation” are two different things.
