ANMAC: Skills Assessment for Nurses and Midwives

ANMAC (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council) is the body that assesses skills for nurses, midwives and some health occupations for skilled migration. This is a large group of occupations for many migrants.

Skills assessment is not the same as registration

A common point of confusion: ANMAC’s skills assessment (for the visa) is different from registration to practise with the health regulator (AHPRA/NMBA) so you can work. These are two separate steps. This guide covers the skills assessment for the visa.
